Who am I

Michel KIHM, Baritone.

Graduated since 1995 after studying music at ENMD La Rochelle (17),he is very interested in the pedagogy of singing.
He continues his training in Paris with Gilles Denizot (Operalab), Marie-Claire Cottin (Ariam Ile de France), Margreet Honig and Udo Reinemann (Sweelinck conservatorium of Amsterdam), Richard Miller (Oberlin College USA) and Noelle Barker (Guildhall school) London).

He deepens his work at the body level with Myriam Pfeffer (Feldenkrais Method), Alain Sicard (Stretching Postural), Jean Blaise Roch and Alain Piron (Osteopathy and sung voice), Robin de Haas and Lynn Martin (Respiratory Coordination).

Passionate about the relation of the human being to sound and music, he then becomes, as a musician-therapist, intuitive touch and musical hypnosis with Stéphane Ottin-Pecchio and sound therapy ( singing bowls and therapeutic tuning forks) and relaxationology of mindfulness (Lao-Tseu-Ki method).

His solo repertoire extends to Bach (Magnificat), Mozart (Coronation Mass), Puccini (Messa di Gloria, Duruflé (Requiem), Donizetti, Poulenc, Schubert ...
He has appeared several times under the direction of Michel Piquemal, notably in 1999 with the Grand Choir of the Abbey of the Ladies of Saintes (17) and the National Orchestra of Bordeaux Aquitaine in the "Missa Longa" of Mozart, then in 2000 with the ensemble Philidor in the "Missa Sancti Hieronymi" of Michaël Haydn, then in 2004 in the "Miserere" of ETA Hoffmann and the "Missa in tempore belli" J.Haydn, and in 2005 in the " Requiem "of Fauré and Psalm 129" De profundis "by JG Ropartz.
In May 2005, in Brussels, he plays the role of Falke in the "New Year's Eve of Fledermaus", an adaptation of the "New Year's Eve" by Meilhac and Halévy and "Die Fledermaus" by J.Strauss, set in motion by Benoît Blampain.
In 2007, he directed the show "Bonsoir Monsieur Offenbach" which is presented in the Poitou-Charentes region.
In July 2012, he participated in Nuits Romanes in Poitou-Charentes with a vocal ensemble in a concert of duets and trios (Mozart, Mendelssohn, Shumann, Delibes).


Michel KIHM is, since 2003, the professor of vocal technique of the Chamber Choir of Deux-Sèvres (Direction Anne Koppe), was for many years the professor of singing of the Great Chorus of the Abbey to the Ladies (Michel Piquemal Direction) and the Vocal Ensemble of the Abbaye aux Dames in Saintes (17) directed by Michel Laplénie.
He conducts singing classes in Aiffres (79) and La Rochelle (17) and runs workshops for weekends "Corps et Voix" in Paris.
Since 2009, he is the artistic director of the Summer Academy "Corps et Voix" (Chant and Technique Alexander) at the Royal Abbey of Celles sur Belle (79) and since 2000 has been running summer courses near Niort (79).
